Dominoes Info

Dominoes and Copper are the  mainstay of modern home distilling. In dominoes Info I try to be as straight forward as I can be. The dominoes that I produce are second to none. You will not find better. For a start they are all cut long grain. No random cuts. No short grain. That’s a Fact.  If I do not like it you would not like it so you don’t get it.  My Dominoes are as the Barrel Wood. They are only cut from the main wood when they are ordered. This is done on a bandsaw. They are cut, flamed if required, and cling film wrapped within a matter of minutes.

They often go to the post while still warm. The band saw as against the chop saw leaves a rougher edge which I believe adds a little to the overall way the domino works. It absorbs the alcohol better if the edge is a little rough. It also allows the flavours to be released back into the alcohol. Please note that all packs are supplied in 5 pieces per pack. There is  none of that chip stuff here. These are all 100% long grain exactly  as it in the barrels. The barrel wood is all long grain.

Wood grain

My Dominoes are all long grain. Chips are a random item some are long grain but most are a random mix of short grain that someone did not want and just roasted, toasted or flamed them, so there is no telling what you are buying.  I can guarantee that my Dominoes are what they say they are and they are the best that you can buy anywhere. Price wise they are the best price you will find for a 100% genuine item. I sometimes offer a second selection ( economy  domino).  This is due to the thickness of the wood to start with. I have tried to whittle this down to a sensible level to cut out waste.

Litre

1 Litre size domino. After a bit of research  ( not set in stone I may add ) the nearest I can find out to be the equivalent of the interior of a 55/65 gallon barrel is 250mm x 20mm x 20mm. This is the approximate area of wood in contact within that amount of liquid inside the barrel.  It wood no, it would follow that a jar with that area of wood in it will be the equivalent of that in the barrel.  Instead of waiting 5 or 10 years for something to happen you can make it happen a few weeks.  Pop the wood in the jar  give it sake each time you pass, or a couple of times a week 5 to 10 years will pass in just a few days / weeks. Magic.

The size of the wood is not that important it is the external area of the wood that is important.  We have a half litre size as well which is 125mm x 20mm x 20mm. As with all dominoes sizes may vary but will be worked out to give the best results. The physical size of the wood you receive may

Depending on the thickness of the wood this is not always possible, thus the economy Domino this is also a very good bargain. The economy domino is not flamed. You can roast, toast or flame the item your selves.
